Extensive Dilation of Distal ureter for Endoscopic Removal of large Lower Ureteral Stones

Abstract
Ureteroscopic extraction has become a preferred approach for management of distal ureteral stones. Dilation of distal ureter may be necessary to provide an adequate access for ureteroscopy to reach the stone and for the endoscopist to complete
extraction of the stone. A patient with large lower ureteral stones in markedly dilated ureter was treated endoscopically by wide dilation of the ureteral orifice and passage of larger nonureteroscopic endoscopes. The use of larger instruments
provided
better vision and the removal of fragmented stones without difficulty, which greatly facilitated treatment without complication.
